Volunteers Needed

With all of these exciting things happening at SFHA, we need your help to make this and future seasons successful.  We are asking for volunteers to assist in the following areas:

  • Coach’s Committee
  • Team Managers
  • Locker room supervision
  • Early registration
  • Fundraising Committee
  • Recruiting and school outreach
  • Rink bulletin board
  • Promotional Materials
  • Coach volunteers

Hockey Gear - What Does My Child Need?

Making sure your player is protected and that his equipment fits well are two important factors when purchasing hockey equipment. Here is the complete list of hockey equipment:

  • skates
  • helmet with cage
  • mouth guard
  • neck guard
  • stick
  • shin pads
  • support and cup
  • gloves
  • shoulder pads/chest protector
  • hockey pants
  • elbow pads
  • jock shorts for boys
  • bag (with wheels makes it easier to handle)
  • Special equipment is necessary for goaltenders

Where to get your gear:

You can rent gear at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center (our home ice arena) for $60/season. Ice Arena main number: (505) 955-4033

The Capitals have a collection of gear for the smaller players.  Ask your team manager for more information.

You can also purchase gear online (see links below) or in stores in most major cities.
