Welcome to the Santa Fe Capitals, the Santa Fe Association's youth hockey team. The Santa Fe Capitals is one of the USA Hockey sanctioned programs in the southwest. We field teams at U8, U10, U12, U14, and Highschool Varsity. Te Ice Arena at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center is our home ice with the season running from October through March.
Here at SFHA, we are committed to fulfilling the THREE PROMISES OF YOUTH HOCKEY:
Promise of Fun
Promise of Guidance
Promise of Achievement
We are setting up our athletes for success by providing life skills development opportunities on ice and beyond. Beginning in the 2022-2023 hockey season, we are pleased to invite all our athletes to participate in the Life Skills Development, a pilot initiative with a promise to develop life skills that build a foundation for a child's confidence, pride, focus, and responsibility. Hockey's unique structure ensures that your child learns to love the game while promoting a healthy lifestyle, social wellness, and mental well-being. Hockey's encouraging environment helps kids grow as both hockey players and people.
We launched the initiative on August 20, 2022, during our semi-annual Try Hockey for Free event. Today, we invite athletes ages 13 to 17* to continue their development by joining the Little Howlers New Mexico as student coaches. Please fill out the SFHA VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP FORM to register and receive program updates.
*Athletes must be currently properly registered with USA Hockey and abide by the STUDENT COACH REGULATIONS. Athletes ages 10 to 12 can join as student volunteers.
