2020 New Mexico Boys Player Selection Camp

The Land of Enchantment Amateur Hockey Association (LOEAHA) is proud to announce the 2020 New Mexico Player Selection Camp (NMPSC) to be held Sunday March 22, 2020 at The Outpost Ice Arenas in Albuquerque. The PSC is an opportunity for New Mexico resident boys with birth years 2003 - 2006 to demonstrate their abilities and compete for the state allocated roster spots for forwards, defenseman, and goalies to attend advanced USA Hockey Regional & District Player Development Camps (PDC).

This year the NMPSC evaluation process will consist of high-tempo skill based on-ice drills, and an organized scrimmage. Evaluators are recruited from multiple organizations, with a wide range of hockey knowledge, to select the most appropriate players to represent New Mexico at their age level.

The NMPSC schedule is as follows:

  • Check in opens: 8:00am
  • Players dressed and ready for brief orientation at 8:45am (Parents welcome to attend.)
  • On-Ice Session: 9:00am to 10:15am
  • Light lunch and healthy snacks provided: 1hr break between sessions.
  • On-Ice Session/Scrimmage: 11:15am to 12:45pm

Players will be notified of their results by email shortly after the camp.

The cost to participate in the NMPSC is $45   ($60 after March 16th or at the door. Please register early!)

Please be aware, should you be selected to attend the District or National camps, there are additional costs associated with those camps. Though the extra cost can be burdensome, the benefits of these camps include:

  • On-ice participation with NCAA College,  Junior,  AAA,  Prep  School,  USAH National and, sometimes, NHL personnel

  • Opportunity to measure themselves against the best players in the district

  • Exposure to scouts and higher-level teams and coaching

  • Possible selection to the gender and birth year specific National USA Hockey National Camps

Currently the Rocky Mountain Boys PDC for birth years 2003-2005 is scheduled to take place May 8-11 in Dallas Tx.

Dates for Rocky Mountain PDC for 2006 birth years are YTBD but are typically held mid-June in Co Springs, CO.

We look forward to seeing hockey players from all over New Mexico at the camp on March 22nd!
